But before we get into the show today, I had some news as we were editing and everything that Gunther Cunningham,

the chief's former defensive coordinator and head coach has passed away at 72 years old.

From reports it was a quick illness so I think that may be a positive thing

but just wanted to talk about Gunther a little bit a lot of positive messages on Twitter.

I think he will rest well knowing that he was a guy that worked his tail off his entire career.

And just to give you a personal story, you've heard me quote him before because I do appreciate

his philosophy, his intensity, his blatant honesty.

And it was because while I was a graduate assistant,

I got the opportunity to actually volunteer a bit

with the organization as well as the Wizards back in the day

there at the training center in the Strength Conditioning Program and I got on

several occasions to while he was the defensive coordinator, one while he was the head coach to meet Guthrie Cunningham a person, have some small conversations with him.

And my favorite thing is with him. I walked out of that

is the day that I met him.

I walked out of that weight room and I went home.

A couple of days later, he was on television.

It really hit me that that guy is real.
