those advocating for food being decommodified and free are not given a lot of air time in the

establishment corporate or even establishment public media.

The way U.S. agricultural policy is set today is via a prioritization of what's best

not for people who want to eat food but for Wall Street

it's shareholders and investors and not what's best for again providing food

or as big agriculture likes to claim it does, feeding the world.

You would think with all the supply chain problems and so many restaurants being shut down

and even going out of business during the pandemic, the agriculture sector would need

emergency bailouts from the federal government.

But what if those subsidies far outweighed the losses the sector actually experienced in 2020.

What if despite a pandemic, it was a banner year for food commodities?

Well, you shouldn't be surprised as the subsidization of farming is a very undemocratic process that as always benefits the rich over the poor.
