Summary

Being ready to face life each day is not complex but our brains resist new activities because it is not a #routine and our brains operate best on cruise control.  So how do we establish #dailyhabits that foster physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual balance so we can show up our best selves when life goes sideways?  This episode is about sharing best practices for establishing dailies.

#Workout: 30 minutes

#Spiritual Devotional: 10 minutes

#Journal Daily Emotions by Role in Life: 5 minutes

Share emotions with your safe person: read your list of emotions

Things to keep in mind about dailies:

-Do what you enjoy so it is #sustainable

-Take the path of least resistance

-Use your tech to establish #reminders

-Plan ahead by reviewing when #dailies are scheduled each night for the next day

Welcome to Girl with Kobe. Listen, this is a podcast that can help us navigate in a more

0:10.3

skilled way. The life that's in front of us as parents, partners, individuals, professionals,

0:17.0

whatever applies to you. And if we can understand the skills that will help us to create as little

0:22.2

collateral damages possible, if we can focus on the things that will get us to the place

0:28.1

we want to go. If we have mindfulness of the skills, we can seriously understand who we are,

0:35.3

which means we can better connect with the people who are around us. So come with me. This is

0:40.1

going to be raw. It will be unfiltered. It will be vulnerable. We'll talk about successes. We'll

0:45.7

talk about certain failures. But most importantly, you're going to get authenticity from me and from

0:51.7

all my guests. So come on. Come with me. Let's all go together. Okay, guys. Welcome to episode two of

0:59.2

Girl with Kobe. Today, we're going to talk about the daily preparation that I go through in

1:04.4

effort to prepare for the day. This isn't easy because life throws all kinds of things at us.

1:11.4

But what I have found is if I can focus and pour my energy into these few things. And if I can

1:19.3

do these in a way that's sustainable, then I'm going to be far more prepared day to day to handle

1:25.3

the curve balls, the thunderstorms that life throws at me. And you know what? I figured out too.

1:31.6

When I fall on my face, and I mess up in some capacity, in some way, in whatever role, it's easier

1:37.4

for me to get back up because I have prepared for those moments when they come. So I'm going to talk

1:43.7

first about our own personal preparation. I'm going to just list these. And then we'll go back

1:50.5

and we'll talk about what each one of them means. We'll also talk about why these kinds of daily

1:56.3

activities are so challenging, so hard to stick with to maintain over time. Because there's more to it

2:05.3

than did you do it or did you not do it? And we'll touch on that. So the first one is having a daily

2:13.4

exercise of 30 minutes. The next one is I do a spiritual devotional. And that's only 10 minutes.

2:24.5

After that, I do five minutes of journaling. And that five minutes of journaling
