Penn State's got some soul searching to do,

but James Franklin, the excuses at the end of the game,

those will not be well received.

And he should and will get criticized for it because of that.

It is our second show of the day,

but we have had a little time to dive in.

It's always college football.

I'm your host, Greg McElroy.

Upon further review is something that some other podcasts have used that have been terrific,

but I think it's appropriate.

I think it's very appropriate because we have some rapid fire reactions just from watching the games. And granted, I'm calling games on

Saturday, so I don't get to see them all live. But I get to see the highlights and get to kind

of draw some conclusions, look at the box scores, things like that. But once you dive a little deeper,

man, you have a different level of understanding of how things went this past Saturday, how things went yesterday for Penn State,

how it went for Texas, two teams that are right now the recipient of a ridiculous amount of criticism.

Some of it's fair. Some of it's completely unfair. I might explain to you why it's a little unfair,

frankly, when I dive into some of the things that

they dealt with yesterday. There's also a team that's on a complete mission. Actually, there's

more than one. There's also some teams that are kind of distancing themselves from an elite level.

I also think that I've had a couple big picture takeaways, too. We'll do some conference races today.
