I think they can improve greatly, but by how much could take them from a team that's a real dangerous team in the Big Ten to a team that is a legitimate college football playoff contender.

Hello and welcome in. It's always college football. Today is Monday, August 4th, and you know what time it is.

We're just a few weeks away from the college football season getting underway.

So we felt like it was appropriate to put out our top 25.

That's right.

This is my top 25.

And it looks a little different the most.

I roll the dice on the few teams.

I will admit there have been things that have changed greatly in college football the last couple years.

I feel like continuity, but upside, coaching continuity, returning starters, all the stuff that used to matter.

You can just throw it out the window in some cases nowadays.

It's harder than ever to put together a top 25.

That's why we take as much time as humanly possible before we actually put this out into the world.

We could do it in the spring. We could do it in January like many others and probably generate a

bunch of views and clicks. But man, live. I feel like if I put my top 25 together in February and did it again in August,

it looked very, very different.

And I wouldn't want to get those two things confused.

So we do it just once a year.

It's the first week of August.

So it's time to hold our feet to the fire.
