Ladies and gentlemen, an urgent update.

And I wish it was a happier one regarding my duck family.

My neighborhood duck family is gone.

It's traumatic. They were there.

They were a mom and her eight babies.

I was feeding them, nurturing them, loving them.

And they vanished.

They left in thin air.

I have not seen them for days.

And I have to say, intermingled with my sorrow is a little bit of anger.

I mean, for weeks, I took care of that family.

And did I get anything on the exit end?

Not a thing.

The mother at some point I had a dream about this.

In fact, you know, the mother was walking past me, trailed by her entourage for the last time.

And the mother swiveled her head toward me and dipped her beak.

Gave me a knowing little dip of the beak, which meant thank you.
