Welcome to Nomad podcast. We're five friends from Nottingham in the UK, Nick, Laura, Michael, Hannah and myself, Tim.

This podcast is all about exploring Christian community, mission and what the future of the church might be.

We've got two interviews for you on this show. Firstly, we speak to Greg Boyd, who's the pastor of Woodland Hills Church in the US,

and we'll be talking to him about the importance of Christian community. And we'll also be having a chat

with Andrew Jackson, who lives in community with some refugees in the northeast of England.

So we've got all this, plus your emails and some discussion from us on this, the second nomad podcast. This week we're thinking

particularly about community. So we've come to our church in Nottingham to find out what people

think community is. I think Christian community is really caring for others and looking out for them.

I think community is all about

having your friends and people your love around you and having a good time with them all. I think

Christian community is about carrying out your Christian faith in the workplace and in any leisure

activity that you may have and remembering that people see you as Jesus would see you and see you

in Jesus as person.

I think Christian community is very good, as in with old people and getting a know each other.

Fellowship, praying for one another, loving one another in a kind of really practical way and helping one another.

And also then within the Christian community, being in a position then that you feel supported and loved and prayed for, that you can reach then within the Christian community being in a position then

that you feel supported and loved and prayed for that you can reach out into the wider community

as well.

I think community is that it's like a strong kind of family and that like you can go to anybody

within that community and taught them and be kind of a strong united front to everybody else.
