I'm reminded of a story.

It was a concert of one of the world's greatest pianists.

And afterwards, when they had a reception for her, a young man approached her and said,

I would give anything to play like you.

And she looked at him and dead in the eyes and she said,

No, you won't.

He said, I would, I would.

She said it again.

And this time with more conviction, no.

You won't be willing to do the work that's necessary to become a great pianist.

Now she was quoting something that Robert Frost said, the world is full of willing people, some willing to work, and the rest are willing to watch them.

She said, you won't be willing to give up time with your friends.

You won't be willing to practice eight, ten hours, seven days a week.

You won't be willing to turn a deaf ear to the distractions of life.

You won't be willing to put in the work and the sacrifice of what it takes to play and master your skills.

If I miss one week of doing the work, I know it.

If I miss two weeks, the critics know it.

If I miss three weeks, my audience knows it.
