but Van Gundy was fired last month,

and yesterday it was announced that Mark Jackson would not be back.

Rumor has it that Doc Rivers and Doris Burke will be the new analyst.

My question is, why do you need a three person booth, especially when you are trying to save all of this money

by eliminating people's jobs.

Why have a three person booth?

It is basketball, all right? Yes, Van Gundy, Jackson and Breen made it work, but that is the exception.

Breen and Doc would be fine. Breen and Doris would be fine. You don't need three people in there.

And I found it interesting that the New York Post wrote a story on this yesterday regarding Van Gundy and said,

one of the reasons why ESPN fired him was

because of his desire to get back into coaching and they were worried about him

leaving. Really? He hasn't coached since 2006, 2007. Doc Rivers, who's going to be taking

his place, would leave in a New York minute to get another head coaching job. So that makes no sense at all.
