radio station, E-SPN 1050, with Michael Kay and his co-host, Kay is the television announcer for the Yankees.

During the interview, Steinbrenner says he is confused as to why the Yankee fans are so upset and are booing the team recently.

Maybe it's because, Hal, your team is 9.5 games out of first place

and 4.5 games behind the second place to Baltimore Orioles.

Steinbrenner is confused that the Yankees 40 and 33 at the time,

he thinks that's pretty good with all of the injuries they've had. Fans don't

want to hear about the injuries because they've been hearing about that every

single year. How should be lucky that his father still doesn't own the team because Hal would be

freaking fired. I've been saying this for years as a Yankees fan. Brian Cashman is a

disaster as general manager. I don't want to hear about 2009 anymore with Derek

Jeter and Bernie Williams. All right? That's a long damn time ago. It's 2023. The Yankees have been a failure, an absolute failure. They have

nothing to show for a ridiculously high payroll for well over a decade now and the owner of the Yankees

has the nerve to go on a New York radio station and say that he's confused about the fans being upset at how the

team's playing this team just got their ass kicked in Boston got swept by the

Red Sox. Hey Hal, wake the hell up, would you please? Your team is not very good.

Again, nine and a half games out of first place, third place in the A.L. Least.
