To say the least, it was not a good weekend

for our professional sports officials.

We saw it in the NFL in both championship games

and of course the horrible no-call at the end of the

Lakers Celtics game when Jason Tatum clearly fouled LeBron James on a layup

attempt that would have sent LeBron to the game with no time remaining

and if he makes one free throw the Lakers would win but instead they lost

in overtime due to a non-call. Now I have talked about this a lot this year. It has not been a good year

in my opinion for the NBA officials. They have made way too many mistakes

particularly at the end of games.

And they are getting hammered for their Twitter account

at official NBA refs when they put out after the game

like everyone else, referees make mistakes.

We made one at the end of last night's game,

and that is gut-wrenching for us.

This play will weigh heavily and cause sleepless nights

as we strive to be the best referees we can be. Now a lot of people had a problem
