Summary

This week, Dan and his wife Becky Allender reflect on the experience of welcoming their new granddaughter into the world.

We are back in our home after a glorious trip to Brooklyn to join the experience of our new

granddaughter's arrival on the earth. So grace is in the world.

And Becky and I have had the privilege of spending nearly a full week. And actually, you spent a bit

longer. And we wanted to reflect just on the glory of a new life in the world.

And though this is, obviously, to grandparents speaking,

there's something about what we're to learn about the life of a newborn

that really cascades into so many elements about the wonder of God and the wonder of how we are fearfully and wonderfully created.

And so, well, Becky, I'm curious, Grandma, what it's been like for you to have a new life in the world.

Oh, it's absolutely wonderful. So amazing. It was so different with each child having

their first baby. And this was Amanda's first baby. And so to be with her after her brother and

sister have had their babies was so different and perfect and wonderful. It's all new again. And such a joy

to see her and Jeff just delight in being Grace's parents. The wonder just cascades back. You remember

each grandchild and we remember each child. And it's just, it was wonderful.

Well, there's something about the life of a newborn. Until you have experienced something like this,

it's hard to imagine. Someone said to me, so what will you do when you're out in Brooklyn? And

what I said was, I think for the most

part, there will be a bit of competition as to who gets to hold her and directly be face to

face with her. So to me, there are three things that I can look at for hours, just hours, a fire, a river, and the face of a newborn.
