I continue my conversation with Pastor Tom Buck,

the senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Lindale, Texas,

where we now basically wrap up discussing music and we move into discussing adoption.

Adoption is such an important matter for Christians to think through both at the practical level, also very much at the theological level.

And so in this episode of the two-part series, the second part, that's what we're going to discuss,

even as we try to point people most generally to the hope we have in Jesus Christ. We don't

live by fear, abject fright of the wrath of God or of disobeying God. Even we live fundamentally,

though we do not want to sin and pray not to, in hope and joy and the

reality that we are loved by God with an everlasting love. Jeremiah 31.3, join Pastor Tom and

me now for the second part of our discussion. Let me just say a word there. This is so important

what you've just put your finger off because we as sound doctrine

loving Christians in the reformed world or the conservative evangelical world we can think yeah you

might have had some some pain in your past or you know that might have been tough in your family life

or your childhood but just just, believe the truth and live the

truth and have your devotions and serve your church and everything's going to just magically,

you know, fall into place. And we want to be very clear that the grace of God works in all of our

lives and the ordinary means of grace. I am really grappling with, as I said earlier in our

conversation, this two-part conversation is this.

This stuff breaks people.
