Nicky Haley was twice elected governor of South Carolina.

She is now a candidate for the Republican nomination for the presidency. And going up against the

dominant player in the Republican Party former President Trump, she scored 40

percent in South Carolina.

We see from the voting chart that she dominated the major cities, Charleston and Columbia, and the coastal

regions, where the professionals live.

She did not have much of a show in the countryside.

This is something we've seen before and talk about Nicki Haley.

Next up is Super Tuesday, which is next Tuesday, not this Tuesday, next Tuesday.

That is, you're a skillful reader of polling.

Right now, Nicky Haley did 40% against Donald Trump in a landscape that gave him all of the 47 votes for the Republican nomination.

At the same time, I learned from Edward Luce,

a columnist at the Financial Times,

that Mr. Trump is in a tie with Mr. Biden nationally for the

presidency but that Nicky Haley leads Biden in a one-to-one match up by 18 points. What do we make of all

these numbers that is?

Well, John, it just goes to show you that at some point in time the Republicans have

swapped rational thought for emotional thinking.

That's kind of where we're at.
