Good evening.

Tonight, the show begins in California, a conversation with Bill Whelan of the Hoover Institution

about a very famous basketball player, Bill Bradley, of the 20th century and a very famous basketball player of the 21st, Steph Curry.

Is a basketball player's success the avenue needed for political success.

Bill Bradley, it was yes until he grew completely

disenchanted with the process, which he called

dysfunctional, in Congress, and left it

after the 96th cycle.

Steph Curry, out of California, has not an obvious path.

The two Senate seats, the governor's mansion,

the lieutenant governor's mansion, lots of people in front of Steph Curry getting

in, but he's going to play for a few more years.

So Bill and I entertained how

it worked in the Senate, is independence how it worked in the late 20th century.

Partisanship is much more severe now, at least that's the perception.

And then I turn to speaking with Antonio Kalabashano in Bucharest about the Romanian authorities finding

what appears to be likely a Russian drone well inside of Romania. Romania shares a border with Ukraine

along the Danube River and the Black Sea coastline.

Odessa province, Odessa Oblast, the city of Odessa,

are right up the road from the Danube.

Russia claims it is reclaiming the Novoricea that includes Odessa

and routinely now sends missile barrashes against Odessa.
