My name is Brian Sauer, and I am joined, as always, by the wonderful Elricane.

And Mr. Kane, what are we doing for today's show?

0:22.4

What's the focus?

0:23.6

We are dressed up in our tuxedos with our Thanksgiving attire on top of that.

0:30.0

We are here to not celebrate the book, The Golden Turkey Awards by Harry and Michael Medved.

0:36.6

Instead, kind of like our Ebert and Siskel Dogs of the Week, who we obviously respect them,

0:41.4

greatly their Dogs of the Weeks episodes.

0:43.8

We kind of wanted to go through a book that I think unjustly maligns a lot of interesting movies.

0:51.0

I would say I think there's a little bit of a difference.

0:53.3

The front of the book, you know, has some valid, humorous, you know, digs or humorous things at, you know, bad movies. And it's pretty low-hanging fruit, though. You know, it's like, it's pretty easy to make pot shots at, you know, exploitation fair and drive-in movies. But where I really take umbrage with this particular book is that

1:24.1

we wanted to kind of go back, highlight some good in something that is

1:28.4

there for you to essentially forget or avoid movies. I mean, I think a book like this is,

1:33.6

is there to tell you the audience not to ever watch this stuff. Like, it's enough to read this

1:38.5

little blurb that will help you avoid this movie. I think that's the actual goal of something

1:43.8

like this.

1:45.0

The only thing I'll say in their defense is that I do think pre-internet some of these books,

1:50.0

you know, actually helped some people discover movies, you know? Just like cult movies, of course,

1:54.0

which is a positive play on this. I think, you know, the fact that these become popular means some people

1:59.0

are learning about movies and watching movies in a time where it's not as easy to learn about lesser known movies, but
