Best time of the year in college baseball.

It's the postseason.

The NCAA tournament is upon us. LSU is hosting a regional 28th time in its glorious baseball history.

And I've been very fortunate to be a part of most of those.

I wasn't here for the 1986 regional, the first regional to LSU hosted, but ever since 1990, I've been fortunate enough to be a part of the regionals here at the original Alecbach Stadium and now at the new stadium.

We call it new still. It was open in 2009, Alec Box Stadium, Skip Burtman Field. And that will be the site of the Baton Rouge Regional starting on Friday with number one seed LSU,

number two seed Dallas Baptist, number three seed Rhode Island, and number four seed Little Rock.

So we're looking for a very competitive series.

Weather forecast looks promising.

So it should be a great environment for baseball, as it always is here in Baton Rouge.

And as always, I'm joined by my

son, Will Franks. Will, thanks for being with us here on the Gold Standard. Again, very exciting

time of the year. As someone who has grown up around college baseball, your thoughts on the

Tigers as they approach this tournament.

Man, this is why we play the game, right? For this, this weekend, NCAA

regionals, you know, 16 sites across the country. And of course, the return of one of my

favorites that has kind of emerged is ESPN squeeze play. I don't know if you're,

are you familiar with squeeze play? I am to some extent, but refresh us, refresh the audience.

Yes.

So during regional weekend, it's essentially like a NFL Red Zone style broadcast where you're

going from Knoxville to Oxford to Haddysburg to Baton Rouge.
