Summary

God doesn’t see time the way we do. While we live according to hours, deadlines, and a focus fixed on the future (chronos), God operates in kairos—sacred moments filled with purpose and a pursuit of being fully present. We can sanctify chronological time by living with eternity in mind—sensing God’s presence in every moment.

In this episode, David Hanegraaff explores the importance of a proper theology of time—Kairos—as opposed to a human understanding of time—Chronos. Learning to trust God’s timing can reshape our daily lives, reorient our expectations, and draw us deeper into communion with Him.

Let us learn to pray the following prayer: “Lord, stamp eternity on our eyes so we live every moment with Your will and purpose in mind. Help us to live not in the fantasy of past and future, but the reality of Your presence right here, right now. Amen.”

This is the second talk given by David Hanegraaff for the Set Apart retreat for young adults at Gospel for Asia in Wills Point, Texas. Interested in serving with Gospel for Asia? Contact [email protected], and the CRI team will connect you with GFA.

Glory to you, God, in all things.

Amen. The first thing that I'd like to share with you this morning is the last thing

somebody on staff here gave me a card and said I wanted to give this to you yesterday, but I didn't see you,

so I walked out and opened it.

0:55.7

It was full of affirmation and encouragement about yesterday.

And so many of you came up to me at different points throughout the day and encouraged

1:06.1

me when I'm here to try and encourage you.

1:10.4

And I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.

1:14.1

It means a lot.

1:15.2

And I want to remind you all that affirmation is one of the greatest tools

1:21.3

that we have in our spiritual tool belt to encourage one another,

1:25.2

and it takes nothing.

1:26.9

It's one of the easiest things that we can do.

1:29.3

And so often we leave it unsaid,

1:32.6

oh, that person already knows that.

1:34.7

Say it again.

1:36.0

Maybe they need to hear it again.

1:38.3

And so just those words of encouragement mean the world
