Hey there, my friends. It is good to be with you once again. This is the morning mindset. I hope

that's what you were looking for. This is our opportunity to get our minds aligned with the truth

of God's word for this day. Today we will be looking at the gospel of Mark verses one through three. So get out

your Bibles. You're going to need those. And before we can dive in for this morning, I want to remind

Okay, before we get into Mark chapter one, let's pray together.

We need the Holy Spirit to guide us and to empower us as we seek to understand God's word.

Our Father, we are grateful for your word.

The fact that you would reveal yourself to us, that you would come to us in

any way as just a staggering concept, you are Almighty God, the Creator. We bow before you,

and we ask you, Lord, to teach us today, graciously, kindly, and with wisdom from your word. In Jesus

name, amen. Okay, Mark chapter 1, verses 1 through 3.

We have before us the introductory section of Mark's gospel. He says in verse 1, this writing that we're

reading is the beginning of the gospel or the good news of Jesus Christ,

the son of God. So Mark is telling us a story about Jesus and about him coming to this earth.

Now, when I say it's a story, I don't mean that it's pretend or made up. I mean that it's his

account of what happened in his day. He was an eyewitness to these things.

Now, he continues in verse number two. He says, as it is written in Isaiah, the prophet, now hold on,

let's stop. We need to understand what he's saying here. He's pointing back to the Jewish scriptures,
