You understand that there are different areas of the cultural war, but one of the things that I like to tell people is that the cultural war is primarily a war for the dictionary.

Words matter, definitions matter.

God chose to reveal himself to his people through written words.

And so words matter.

And so whether it's the world hijacking the word love and like a Trojan horse loading their own ideas of what love is into that word and then accusing Christians who stand on a biblical sexual ethic or Christians

who stood on a proper understanding of church and state through COVID calling those Christians

unloving weaponizing our own word by redefining it.

And so as Christians we ought to care a lot about words and we ought to care a lot about

redeeming words and using words as the Bible defines them.

So I say all that simply to say,

and I'd like to challenge you,

to change your language about government.

When you say the government,

referring to civil authorities,

you're actually by your language elevating the civil authorities and the perceived

civil government above other governments that God institutes right so when we say the government, we can talk about church government, we can talk about family government,

we can talk about self-government, but then we use the term the government to talk about the civil authorities.

We're actually buying into the state

totalitarianism that got us where we are. So don't say the government when

referring to civil authorities, say civil government.

And when you talk about family government, talk about family government.

When you talk about church government, talk about church government.
