Second Chronicles chapter 34 verse 3,

for in the eighth year of his reign while he was yet a boy,

he began to seek the god of David his father.

And in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah

and Jerusalem of the high places, the ashram, and the card in the metal images.

I love this picture of Josiah, King Josiah.

He became King at eight years old and then in the eighth year of his reign,

so he's sixteen years old. While he was yet a boy,

he began to seek the god of David his father.

And in the years to come was purging Judah and Jerusalem of these

high places and all of this idolatry.

This started when he was sixteen, like reform that

turned the nation of Judah upside down.

And when I read Second Chronicles 34, I remember reading this as a teenager

and realizing God wanted to use my life at that point,

not just later, but as a teenager for his glory.

In ways far beyond what I could ask or imagine that God desired that for my life.

And I just want to lead us to pray this over teenagers today.

I want to encourage us specifically to pray.

There's a lot of conferences that go on in between Christmas and New Years

and right after New Years when it comes to high school students and college
