This week Adam Savage (@donttrythis) joins Ana Marie Cox (@anamariecox ) to talk about his new book “Every Tool's a Hammer: Life Is What You Make It.” They talk about glue, principles of metal working, and how to forgive yourself when you mess up. Afterwards, they talk about why we are going to need radical empathy in order to make it through these troubling times. Finally, they discuss the myths that refuse to die, including the voices in your head telling you that you are not enough. Ana is then joined by new Crooked Host Rebecca Nagle (@rebeccanagle) who talks about her new show This Land. The first episode premieres June 3rd. In my family, if you've been following along on this podcast,

0:10.5

for any length of time, you know this is a huge point of contention, especially now since I

0:16.0

do not have the metabolism I used to have and my husband still has the metabolism he had is like a

0:20.8

13-year-old. So dinner can be kind of like, no, I don't want to get something, you know, like fast

0:26.0

food and he'll be like, no, fast food is delicious. And of course, if he orders fast food, it's hard

0:30.4

for me not to have some. Gobble makes a huge difference because it is literally impossible to

0:36.5

argue that it will be more convenient for us to order in than to do gobble because gobble meals

that unfortunately exists pretty much in our backyard every night during baseball season.

hard work for you. They pick the highest quality ingredients. They do the peeling, the chopping,

1:36.8

the marinating and the making of the perfect sauces. You just pick out your meal. There are all

1:41.3

these different options including family favorites gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, kid-friendly,
