Summary
In this story we follow the lives of three Japanese-American marines who joined the newly created 442nd division in France in 1943- leaving behind their families on the US west coast- families which had been forced to give up their possessions and move to internment camps due to a national panic caused by fear of a Japanese attack on the west coast. The legendary tenacity of the Japanese-American Regimental Combat Division throughout 7 campaigns in Italy and France made them the most decorated unit for their size and length of service in US history.
