What's going on, everybody, and good morning.

Today is Thursday, April 16th, and this is your daily Go Birds morning update,

giving you all the Eagles news you need to know, as well as what, to keep an eye out for today.

And today's a big day, because today we are officially one week away from the NFL draft a week from today we'll be

waking up hopefully together listening to the daily pod I guess not literally together but I kind

of feel like we wake up together in a way because you wake up,

listen to me, talk to the Eagles.

And I'm very grateful that you guys do that and very grateful that I get to talk Eagles with you

guys.

In a week from today, we'll have a lot to talk about because when the NFL draft kicks

off one week from tonight, we'll find out a future critically important eagle. The Eagles, the first round

pick they make, what they do with that pick, whether it's trade up, trade back, trade the pick

altogether, which I kind of think they should do, or whoever they end up with will be a critically

important piece for this team. You have to hit on first round picks. You absolutely have to do it.

If you look, and we're going to take a deep dive today into Howie Roseman's draft record

and compare before and after Nick Siriani's arrival, but if you look at the Eagles prior to Nick

and after Nick, they missed on a lot of first round picks, and we'll get into that in detail,

but when you are missing on first round picks for long stretches, it makes it really, really hard

to compete because you're not getting low-level, low-cost production. The Eagles over the past

few years have had so many players compete and or so many players play at a high level at a cheap rate.

And it's why you can sign expensive players and have an amazing roster because you're not
