edition of the Go Birds 2026 on the clock draft preview as we continue to look at the upcoming

draft less than two weeks away, about a week

and two or three days away, from us knowing who the Eagles will be taking in the first round.

And there's a reason we started last week on offense. I think Eagles would prefer to go

offense in the first round of the draft. They want to move the expensive contracts from the

offensive side to the

defensive side. And the way to do that is to have cheap, productive players on offense,

something you've probably heard me say a ton if you've listened to these draft series,

which I appreciate. So they are going to want to go offense in the first round. But we also know

that when it comes to Howie Roseman, anything's possible in the first round.

He has, I think, actually done a pretty good job of clearly I don't know his board, but of sticking to the board.

You saw them take Quignani Cooper in the same year, right?

They took defensive linemen a few years in a row.

So he has not been a GM that has gone into drafts, I think at at least, trying to distribute the picks evenly and saying, well, we went offense this year, now we should go defense. And I think that's a good strategy. I don't think that's how you have a productive draft. You do have to stick to your board, right? So in a little over a week and a half, when the Eagles get on the clock with their first pick at 23, whether that be trading up, trading back, there is a chance that they go defense.

And I think that if they go defense, the position most likely to be selected in the first

round on the defensive side of the ball is the eddresser position.

Now, on Monday, we talked about the safeties, and you never know, right?

The safety out of Oregon. Caleb Downs probably not falling far enough. Emmanuel McNeil Warren,

like there is definitely options there, right? But I don't think they will take a safety in the first

round. That's why a lot of guys we talked about in that pod were later round, third round type of

guys. But edge rusher is both, well, let me put it this way. It checks two boxes for the Eagles.
