Good morning football. That's right, this is good morning football. We are presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerky, live in L.A., live in New York. It's Thursday, December 19th. I'm Jamie Erdall. This is Akbar, Bajumia Milla, Peter Schrager, Kyle Brandt. Guys, how is New York doing this time of year? So festive, so lovely. How are you guys feeling out there? Probably cold. What do you think, Peter? New York's great. It's cold, but obviously the holiday season, there's no better place to be. The tree lighting ceremony was a couple weeks ago, and now everybody's coming in and enjoying a festive time. And Jamie, the coolest part about it, while everyone's out in the streets enjoying Christmas in New York, we'll be on our couches watching football. It's what we do. Yeah. It's a great gift. The NFL has given us. It's football tonight, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, next Saturday, next Saturday. Oh, it's so great. It's overdosed on football.

1:11.7

It's been quite this. Next Thursday, too.

1:12.5

Next Thursday.

1:25.7

Dang it, Peter. I'm so sorry. I missed that day. So sorry to the prime video crew. We love you. Let's look at... It's a milking. Glemy. Glutney. Exactly. That's the football games right now. We had,

1:27.6

drummers drumming, lords a leaping.

1:28.7

Oh, that's great.

1:30.1

Quarterbacks at dancing.

2:04.1

Yeah. Exactly. That's the football games right now. Drummer's drumming, lords a leaping. It's great. Coderbacks of dancing. Yes. Here we go. It's Thursday. We had Peter Schrager's trivia earlier, and now it's time for throwdown Thursday. Okay. Kyle Brandt once said there was an executive at the NFL, who this was their favorite segment on our show, the second hour of a Thursday, top of the hour. Let's go. It's been quite the season for Aaron Rogers and the Jets. I was waiting for a throw-down graphic to happen. Here we go. The Jets were eliminated. That was a lot of me on camera. The Jets were eliminated from the playoffs early and now stand with a 4-10 record. Rogers, who is everywhere right now, especially if you're downloading the Netflix app, spoke to the media yesterday about his plans for the future

2:08.2

and whether or not he'd welcome a return to the medal ins.

2:13.0

I'm going to take some time after the year, unless I get released right away, but I'll still take some time whether or not I want to play. There's a lot of reasons why this would be a great opportunity. But, you know, I'm going to see what happens. There's, you know, a lot of things yet to happen. They've got to hire a GM, got to hire a head coach, and then, you know, whether or not I'm part of conversation or whether

2:35.1

not they move on, you know, whatever happens I'll be taking my time and thinking about my future.

2:43.6

It is mind-boggling to think that amongst many other decisions the Jets have to make,

2:48.9

the quarterback might be at the third spot because they have hiring to do up top, GM, coach,

2:53.7

and so on and so forth.

2:54.9

Throw down Thursday is this.

2:56.5

Let's pit the final weeks of the NFL season against two quarterbacks, one old, one.

3:01.4

Aaron Rogers, Michael Pennix, Jr., who will start for the Falcons this weekend.

3:06.2

Whose final weeks of this season are you going to be watching closer? Peter, first. Rogers or Michael Pennix Jr.? I'm going with A-Rod. I am fascinated with how this thing plays out. If you had asked me three weeks ago, I would say it's likely on, I don't see a situation where Rogers A would maybe want to return and B where the Jets want him back.

3:26.5

And then the last two weeks, Rogers has played fantastic football. He's getting healthier. And suddenly you look at this, you're like, well, what's the alternative? They're not going to get one of the top picks in the draft. So it's not Shador Sanders or Cam Ward. you're then looking at like, all right, we can still draft a quarterback, but maybe we keep Rogers around.
