Welcome back. This is the Big Blue B banter. New York Giants football podcast. I'm Dan Schneier. Joined as always my co-host Nick Polato. Tonight we're here to do a quick recap reaction, rapid, quick takeaways. The Giants lost in Week 16 to the Vikings. This is one of the toughest losses I've experienced as a fan in a long time, Nick. I'll tell you why. The main reason why is one, I feel like they outplayed the Vikings and lost anyway. Two, it means something. We're finally playing games in December. That means something. If they had won today, they would have clinched the playoffs. More importantly, for me, though, they had won today. They would have positioned themselves in a nice spot to play the Vikings in the playoffs. Instead of playing the 49ers, which now seems like the most likely scenario for the Giants. Now, the Giants are still not a lock to be in the playoffs. But I believe Doug E analytics put out that they have a 77% chance to make the playoffs right now, even after the loss today. And they can still make the playoffs if they lose their next two games. If they win one game next week,

they clinch.

So all they have to do is beat the Colts at home in a home, yeah, you know, that should be definitely a game that, you know, it's a playoff game. And if they don't win that anyway, we probably feel a little worried about the team. But if they play like they did today, they can beat the Vikings, they can beat the Colts,

they can beat a lot of teams in the NFL.

Maybe not the 49ers.

We'll have to see there.

But why it's so disappointing to lose this game because they really look like they finally were clicking today, offense more than they ever have. So I want to start there. Well, actually, let me start with what are some of your quick takeaways or just Keith reactions you wanted to get out there first.

The Giants defense collapsed in that final drive with the third and nine played

of Justin Jefferson and then the third and 11 screen.

But other than that, man, this defense with the likes of Fabie Moreau being your quote unquote

shutdown cornerback and Darnay Holmes being one on one on Justin Jefferson actually did a

pretty good job in the second half other than the 12 play 75-yard touchdown drive, which ended

in T.J. Hawkinson's second touchdown because after that, you have Daniel Jones come right back
