Welcome back. It's the big blue banter. New York Giants football podcast. I'm Dan Schneier.

0:06.3

Join as always my co-s, Nick Falado. And Nick, let me tell you, this is my absolute favorite time of the year. Yes, opening weekend for the NFL is fun for me. It's number two.

0:16.4

But March Madness, it's the best sporting event of the year, without a doubt, without anything that

0:21.5

comes close to it. And I'm into a Calcutta auctions, which for those who don't know, they're some of the fun thing, way you can play March Madness. Yeah, you can play the brackets. That's fun too. But Calcutta, it's an auction where you bid on teams and every, all the money that's put into the prize pool, percentages pay out for each win in the tourney. So I got a Calcutta tonight and I got a Calcutta coming up on Wednesday. Very excited for both of those. Excited to watch 12 hours of basketball, two days in a row, Thursday and Friday. It's as good as it gets. That sounds horrible. Really. Also, Nick, I'm going to grace us before we get to some Giants news and what this show is all about. And yes, for maybe I'll put in the timestamp because someone's like, oh, get forward to four minutes if you want to get to the football talk. I understand you and those people. But guess what? There are also people who like to hear this other stuff. And I've got a lot of comments lately about, tell us a little bit about golf, Nick. So I got one golf story for you that I have to bring. Let's hear it. So it's golf season. We're starting up sort of, I guess. I mean, I booked the tea time this past Saturday, Nick, and it was supposed to be 60 degrees. It ended up being 47 degrees out with no sun. It was a cold, cold round at beautiful Berkshire Valley, which, by the way,

1:30.7

under new management, they raise the prices and the course isn't kept as well. And there's like all

1:35.6

these little intricacies I don't like. There's no liquor license now. They didn't, the new management

1:40.5

didn't bring on a liquor license, which is so idiotic for a golf course. So I got some negative things to say about what's probably the nicest public course in New Jersey, if not Nashanik. But man, dude, I was broken. That first nine, I was like debating quitting golf. And that's not the first time I've debated it. I never will quit sport. But I just couldn't get off the T, six to shots out of bounds, taking penalties,

2:02.2

you're dropping for three, you can't get back into the hole. Even my irons were just nasty looking.

2:07.3

I couldn't get anything done but the short game. Shot a 55 on the front. Then Nick, I was reminded.

2:12.8

I was reminded why there is no better feeling in life or sports than being better at that specific

2:18.3

sport because it's so fucking hard to be good at. I shot a 41 on the back and that's with two

2:23.0

horrific three puts that I just choked on where I dropped on the green and two or one on a par

2:28.7

three and then somehow three putt from 12 feet away and added two extra strokes I don't need

2:33.4

to the score. But a 41 on the back of Berkshire as almost one of my best nines I've ever played, quite honestly, got off the tee perfectly on the back nine. Everything clicked. I don't know what I did differently. Hopefully it changes. But I'm back, baby. It's golf season. It's March Madden this season. That's excellent. So you would say that you've been choking

2:52.0

on your short game a little bit? Uh, no, I wouldn't because I, I have scared of where this will go if I

2:57.3

tell you that. Okay. That's what I, that's what I collected from the story, but all right. We can

3:02.5

move on to some giant news, though. Yeah. Well, listen, I always set myself up for failure with the rhetoric here,

3:10.4

and I like that you take advantage. Let's get to some Giants news, Nick. A couple veteran depth signings

3:15.7

for the Giants. Look, they've decided this offseason. They ain't going to go in without depth again.

3:20.4

So they signed Jeremiah Ledbetter, an interior defensive lineman that Nick and I actually remember from the draft process. Maybe a rotational player, maybe special teams. I'm not exactly sure what the plan is for him. And then Demetrius Flanagan Folles, a linebacker who will almost definitely be a special team's ad. But maybe they see something more there as well. Any thoughts from you on these two? Yeah, Ledbetter, six-foot-three,

3:41.5

about 300 pounds was a six-round pick by the Detroit Lions. I remember watching his Arkansas

3:45.9

tape back in 2017 to really bring it full force, man. He's just somebody who is, I think him and
