Hey everybody and welcome to this very special podcast today. We're going to be talking

0:14.1

about Mass Effect and all things Mass Effect. Do out March 6th, right? That is correct

0:20.2

on the Xbox 360, PS3, and the PC. That is Casey Hudson Executive Producer for Mass

0:25.8

Effect. I'm joined by Patrick Clepick, a Brad Shoemaker, Audi. We're going to talk a little

0:30.5

bit or a lot about Mass Effect as much time as we can get. We're just going to have a general

0:35.1

discussion. We'll go around and try and pick your brain about what is going on in the

0:39.0

universe of Mass Effect. Sounds good. So I was going to open up and just kind of hoping

0:43.8

you can talk about what's the difference basically between putting on Mass Effect 3, which

0:49.1

has its own expectations and putting on Mass Effect 1 where you're kind of birthing this

0:54.4

new property onto the world, kind of hoping everybody embraces it. And now Mass Effect 3,

0:59.3

which is kind of like an adult, has its own friends, people have their own expectations

1:03.6

of it for better or worse. And how would you meet those expectations versus what was it

1:08.9

like to kind of be like, is this going to work? Yeah, it is very different. And I think

1:15.1

part of the challenge of creating something new like Mass Effect 1 is, you know, on the

1:20.3

one hand, people like to be, you like to have creative freedom as much as possible. But

1:27.3

when you have total freedom and you're literally staring at a blank page, it's actually really

1:31.3

hard to kind of give yourself limits of, you know, what is this universe about and what

1:36.3

are people going to like about it. And then anything that you announce is seen as a reference

1:42.7

to something else, you know. So it's like, oh, it's going to be Babylon 5 or it's going

1:47.4

to be Blade Runner or, you know, but that's one thing that's nice about getting past

1:51.9

the first one is that then people know what it is. And they can tell you, and we have

1:57.0

millions of players around the world that know what they want out of Mass Effect.
