Juli Berwald received her PhD in ocean science from the University of Southern California. She’s the author of Spineless: The Science of Jellyfish and the Art of Growing a Backbone and a contributor to The New York Times, Nature, National Geographic, and Slate. 1:08.1	My husband and I went to Turks and Caicos
1:12.2	for our honeymoon last year and we got to like go snorkeling in this like stunning coral reef and I
1:19.9	realized that there was like all of this bleaching like a lot of like the
1:23.4	crow was like getting bleached and I was asking our tour guide is this like the thing that I was
1:27.8	reading about and like the news and he was like yeah like when I was little it wasn't like
1:31.5	this and now it's like all like this and I was like no
1:35.9	So that's how I got curious about coral reefs coral reefs
