0:53.2	Is our world, even though I already know that this is true, but just in case you need
0:58.1	a literal NYU professor to explain it, is our tech really hardwired for a gender binary and
1:05.8	cisgender norms? 100% yes. The reason for this is that our tech reflects basically 1950s ideas about gender
1:19.0	because that's when computers were made.
1:22.8	Our systems like NYU core university systems,
1:26.3	like our student management systems,
1:28.2	were developed in the 60s, right?
1:31.4	And so they have these really retro ideas about gender.
1:35.0	So NYU has done a really good job of updating its computer systems
