I'm Ryan Hunn. Ryan, how are you doing? I am all right now thanks man, how are you?

Now, that's something I'm very well thanks. Sweating profusely because it is an absolute greenhouse

in my mum's place where I am back in London, undisclosed location, but yeah otherwise life is good.

Nice. Shall we begin by giving you some congratulations because I was going to say we've had

some news. You've had some news that you've kept under wraps for a little while.

I remember when you told me when we were in London. Yeah, I should probably,

yeah, so I was elected as a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.

Unbelievable. Unbelievable, man, honestly. I'm sorry, this is so huge.

It's so huge. What the hell? It's wild. I don't know. I don't know what to say about it.

I mean, very, very quickly because obviously the podcast is not about my writing.

When I got the news, I was a bit overwhelmed to be honest because there's so many sacrifices

that I made to be a writer that I've made and a lot of the people who are fellows,

they're like heroes of mine, like people that came before obviously got Charles Dickens,

people like that, like previous generations of writers. A great friend of mine was a fellow

of the Royal Society. He was a scientist, so he was in for sciences, and I always remember thinking

that's one of those things that's just like legacy because it's your peers that elect you,

right? It's a it's a it's a committee of like your favorite writers of your generation.

So I got there yesterday and the great Ella Schafferck was there one of my favorite writers,
