Julian Marshall and we begin today in Georgia. That's the country which

shares a border with Russia where the French-born president Salome Zorribishvili has

described Saturday's parliamentary election as a total falsification.

I do not recognize this election result.

This election cannot be recognized because it is the recognition of Russia's incursion

Georgia's subordination to Russia. I did not come to this country for this. Our

ancestors did not live for this. We will not tolerate this.

Nobody can take away Georgia's European future.

Well the ruling Georgian Dream Party was declared the winner, but a grouping of opposition parties

claim the poll was rigged.

The elections clearly matter to those who live in Georgia, but the outcome could also affect regional alliances.

Georgian Dream is seen as a party that would like to align the country more closely to

Russia, whereas the opposition parties want stronger ties with the European Union.

Anyway, international observers haven't endorsed the president's view of the elections,

but they have highlighted violations such as vote by divisive campaign rhetoric

and widespread intimidation. Antonio Lopez Istuaries White is a Spanish

Some of our teams of the European Parliament witness some high tension.

In my particular case, I witnessed this in a polling station, confusion, chaos.

In one case that is now widely know, but one of our teams was present, It was a case of ballot box staffing

and also the closing of that polling sessions afterwards.
