Summary

Family, friends and city leaders gathered to honor the life of George Floyd in Minneapolis, in his first memorial service. Reverend Al Sharpton delivered a eulogy Thursday, denouncing racism and calling for accountability in the criminal justice system. The event was the first in a series of memorial services to honor his life.  The Minnesota attorney general announced all four former police officers involved in the 46-year-old's death have been charged. The announcement came more than a week after Floyd was killed in police custody. On Thursday, three of the former officers also appeared before a judge for their first court hearing. Their bail is now set at a minimum of $750,000. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of protestors took to the streets across the United States Thursday for the tenth day in a row. In Washington D.C., White House officials strengthened the security perimeter of the area. Crews extended a tall metal fence around the White house complex. In New York City, protestors marched across the Brooklyn Bridge with a police escort chanting "Peaceful Protests." Former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly is defending Former Defense Secretary James Mattis. Mattis accused Trump of dividing instead of uniting the United States saying he was quote "making a mockery of our constitution."  To learn more about how CNN protects listener privacy, visit cnn.com/privacy Learn more about your ad choices.
