Hello, welcome back to full time with Meg Linahan. You are listening to a show all about women's soccer on the athletic podcast network. I am Meg, your host as always. I'm a national staff writer at the athletic covering the NW.S.L and the U.S. Women's National Team. The Challenge Cup is underway. The FIFA window is complete. The lawsuit between the players of the U.S. women's national Team and U.S. soccer has closed its first stage,

0:38.4

and the appeal has officially gotten underway. A lot happening, but this wasn't quite the

0:45.4

triumphant week of women's soccer here in the states that we were hoping for. So on today's show,

0:50.2

I am joined by both Sandra Herrera of CVS Sports and Steph Young of all 411 for a discussion

0:56.8

of the past few days in particular, the much tougher discussion around what Sandra calls

1:02.8

the generational growing pains of the NW cell that we're working through right now.

1:07.9

plus everything else we have to offer with the site and app by signing up for a new subscription

1:20.7

at theathletic.com slash full-time. Right now when you visit theathletic.com slash full time, you can start your new

1:28.9

1:35.9

settlement on the remaining portion of this lawsuit concerning working conditions was finally

1:40.2

approved by the court. It was really actually entered into the system on Wednesday

1:45.0

the 14th. But first, on Monday, we had these back-and-for statements from the spokesperson for the

1:50.5

players involved in the lawsuit. That's Molly Levinson. And then U.S. soccer, plus some new clips

1:55.3

of U.S. soccer president, Cindy Parlo-Cone, of course, herself a former women's national team player.

2:01.6

But here's the statement from U.S. soccer on Monday. I'm just going to read this out right now.

2:06.2

We expected the women's national team to appeal the summary judgment ruling that determined

2:11.1

U.S. soccer has paid the U.S. women's national team fair and equitable compensation.

2:16.3

We remain hopeful that we can come to a resolution

2:18.5

outside of the court system. U.S. soccer is 100% committed to equal pay. We have offered

2:25.0

the U.S. women's national team the identical compensation provided to our men's players
