We're very pleased to welcome Dr. Asher Benarria, who is the

Arrove chair for study of child maltreatment in the Paul Berve

School of Social Work and Social Welfare at the Hebrew University.

In Jerusalem, he's also director of the Haroove Institute.

He is in Jerusalem and most recently quoted in the Washington Post an article about the tragedy in Gaza and the children

being led out by the Hamas terrorists to return to their families or not depending on the circumstances.

You are quoted in the Washington Post very carefully saying the isolation of the children is dramatic.

Isolation is a major part of the trauma of losing control of your life.

It's important for the children to regain control.

Part of the trauma in whatever trauma that is happening is that the people lose control over their life and lose their autonomy.

When you are put in a isolation, you lose the autonomy to decide,

who do you want to meet if you want to get out of the room or out of the

room or not and you basically lose any control over your life and that's a major component of trauma the major component your

and that's a major component of trauma. The major component also of dealing with trauma and preventing

post-traumatic stress syndrome is to help the victims of trauma to regain control over the life.

So the treatment involves talking with them,

asking them anything and everything that you want to do with them.
