All right, hello, and welcome back to SRM Varsity Extra, where we talk all things high school football in the great state of Tennessee right here on the Chase Thomas podcast, where I am now joined by a second timer.

When we talked last, I don't know if Tyler Williams of Gatlinburg-Pitman knew he was

going to be in the state title game here this week in Chattanooga, but here we are, Coach.

Yeah, absolutely.

No, I can't say we knew we were going to be there, but it was definitely part of the plan,

and we hoped we would get there, and, man, it's just all falling into place for us, and here we are getting ready to travel down to Chattanooga tomorrow. The biggest reason your team is in the state championship game this week is what? Toughness. No doubt. I mean, you know, look, we've got some good, sure, we've got some good sure we got some good athletes

got some kids that can run and you know we got some kids who are strong we got some kids who are

smart but man it's just a tough group of kids they're tough and then if i had to give you one

other adjective so to speak i guess it would be a coach ability man they're tough more coachable

and uh there's been plenty of games that uh we've been

we've started slow uh it's kind of kind of our m o and i say they just like to do it to torture me

you know but uh we we start slow but but we finish strong and i guess uh if you're 14 and oh

you just got to take that is that something that you have to like

when you're undefeated and you're undefeated the whole year you're just like we just keep

winning there's no lesson because sometimes you can take lessons from losing sometimes you can

like hey here's something we can pit off but you just keep winning so you're like hey yeah yeah

it's awesome we're undefeated we're keeping this thing coming but like it's not every week we're zero and zero. Like, yes, the record might say 10 and 0, 11 o, 12, no, it's, it looks amazing. Y'all should be proud of the accomplishment, but you have to keep reminding we're still zero and zero. Is that hard? Yeah, yes and no. I mean, you know, I think With a lot of teams, you see that, you know, people, when, when you win some games, some teams, you know, you might win seven or eight or nine, and you kind of get a big head and, and, uh, you lose your place and that's where people can get you. That's where, you know, I know there were some things this year, like when we, as we had a good run going, and there

were some people said, well, you know, Galenberg Pitman, you know, maybe went out and played some good teams or something like that. I'm like, man, it's hard to go to know. I've been 20 years, and this is the first time I've been to know it's, it, you know, we've had plenty of good seasons, but

you know,

it just doesn't
