just when you thought the world couldn't get any crazier.

The American Academy of Pediatrics

recently updated their evaluation and treatment

for children with obesity.

Now, this is really important to discuss and talk about

because obviously the problem,

the epidemic of childhood overweight in obesity

has hit a critical inflection point

where doctors are seeing the aftermath

and the clinical consequences linked with obesity

such as cancer, asthma, depression,

we know diabetes and cardiometabolic disease

are consequences of excess body fat.

So doctors are now seeing this at historic

unprecedented levels in clinical practice

and are searching for solutions and tools.

And I think the solutions and tools discussed herein

are insufficient to actually address

the root cause of the problem,

which is over nutrition, excessive calories,

particularly from ultra-processed hyper-palatable foods.
