So it's not just the poor pitching that's been killing the Red Sox lately.

The offense gave you this stat earlier in case you missed it.

I think it's the only Red Sox stat you need right now.

The team with the worst winning percentage in the American League East since the 4th of July,

it is not the Baltimore Orioles, the team that has 70 losses. Like we knew the Orioles were going to stink again this year. No, no, no. It's the Red Sox. And that says it all. They are 11 and 15 since the 4th of July. And here's another one, the Red Sox. So, you know, this is where the offense, as it's dried up and guys like J.D. Martinez have been a mess, especially with runners and scoring position, guys that you could con on.

And the calling card of this team prior to them reeling, you know, their clutchness, their resiliency. It's all dried up.

The Red Sox started the season, Chris, by going 16 and 20 when they're pitching allowed five or more runs.

It almost doesn't even make sense.

But the offense covered for the ineptitude of the rotation and the pitching overall.

Since then, the offense has obviously slowed down considerably.

It's dried up.

And their record weren't allowing five or more runs. One and 11. Oh, one and 11. So, you know, maybe some of the nerds knew this. Maybe the regression was coming. Water was going to find its level. This is why we didn't invest in the team. But again, you maybe could have added another arm. Maybe if you knew the offense was going to dry up, maybe this is why you add a bet like Anthony Rizzo. Look at the spark. He's given to the New York Yankees who have also been a mess. It just, that part to me doesn't compute. If you thought this the whole time, then where were you people kind of downplaying what the Red Sox were doing the first few months of the season or up until the All-Star break? Where was the talk of this being a mirage?

It's interesting because it's kind of like, I mean, I guess, I guess this iteration of baseball ops is still in the honeymoon period. Because, you know, some people don't seem to mind. It's like if they have a great year and win the whole thing, great. If they started out with a great year and falter and in part, that's because they didn't add to the team.
