We were talking yesterday about low budget gardening tips and you mentioned that you had

a double dug, John Jevin style, a lot of your garden at the start and correct me if I'm

wrong.

I don't think that's something you would do again, right?

It's probably not something I would do again.

I did get some good results, but I wouldn't say that they were better than any other things

that I've done before.

So that's one of those things where it took a lot of effort and the reward wasn't insanely

significant.

Okay.

Here's a question.

If you had a broad fork magically back when you were building it out, would you have

double dug at all?

No, I probably actually would have just gone with the broad for it.

Just forked it.

Because one thing I'll say is that if you don't do the double dig perfectly well, what I

ended up doing, for instance, was inverting some of the soil layers back to it and what that

meant was that I had a lot of clay on top of my bed.

So I went to go water my new bed, all the water just kind of ran right off the edges because
