What's going on everyone? Welcome back to the Epic Gardening Podcast. Today I'm

0:17.8

actually really excited because a friend of mine who I met in Barcelona, Robert Strauss, the farmer on the roof, is on the show.

0:27.0

So just for a little preface here, I was in Barcelona on just a normal vacation and connected with Robert and of course I can't really

0:34.8

seem to go on a vacation without mixing in some plants and gardening and so we

0:39.4

met and I think Robert maybe it's best to have you describe your unique growing situation and of course welcome to the podcast and great to talk to you.

0:48.0

small but long narrow roof and little by little I've extended the

1:26.3

garden to each of these areas there's also a backyard down below on the ground

1:31.4

floor level. Yeah yeah that was the thing that I noticed the most was just how you've sprinkled in gardening and plants on every single level of a pretty, I mean, it very vertically integrated but it is a tight horizontal space.

1:47.2

Oh yeah it's completely right in the middle of the city I and surrounded by buildings.

1:52.6

Some of them are taller than where our building is.

1:55.4

And as you'll remember, the orientation

1:59.2

as to the sun is sort of southeast to northwest.

2:03.1

So parts of the place get afternoon sun,

2:05.4

parts of the place get morning sun.
