This is the 10-minute Bible Hour podcast, and we're in the middle of a very

fun epilogue, for me at least, where we're working through the question of did the book of

Galatians work? So we just finished going through the book of Galatians. We're still on this

season, this series on Galatians that we're getting close to wrapping up here, but I wanted to know.

I had a historical question. And my historical question is, did it work? Did the churches

that the letter of Galatians were written to? Did they believe it? Did they take it? Did they

internalize it? Did Christianity work out there? And so to answer this question, because of the nature of the geography of this

era, the geography of Galatia, we have to really look at about six towns to try to establish

an answer from history to that question. We don't know exactly which towns Galatians was

written to, but it was surely Leistra Iconium, Derby,

Pasidian, Antioch, and or a little town up north called Gordian, and or a little town up north

called Ankara, that almost surely would have been in view in this letter, just based on Paul's

travels. It had to be some or all of those churches

that Paul was writing to here.

So we're just looking at all of those churches.

And yesterday we started looking at the city, the community of Derby.

Derby is a little town in southwest Asia Minor, Turkey.

It's straight north of the island of Cyprus, where Paul's first

missionary journey started. And it's almost straight west, but west and just a little bit north of

Antioch in Syria, well, ancient Syria, which was the home base for all of Paul's missionary journey.

And what we know so far is that it's kind of a barren high plateau. which was the home base for all of Paul's missionary journey.
