Hey, everybody. It's Matt. This is the 10-minute Bible Hour podcast, and we're doing something weird this week.

We're working on a challenging high stakes for you and me passage in Galatians 5, specifically it's Galatians 516, which says, so I say live by the spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

Other translations say indulge the flesh. And I got my

buddy Jeff here working it through with me all week. So we're just going to pick up where we left

off yesterday. But I think the thing they're all sitting here wondering now is, okay, so what do

I do? Don't do these things. Got it it but how do I move forward and we're getting

into stuff that is that it feels like it's almost not due oriented and that's I think a little bit

confusing and it's it's understandable if it would take a minute for people to figure out what Paul's driving at. Yeah. And we can wrap ourselves around the axel on what does flesh mean,

but we would lose the main point, which is his answer to your question. Okay, then what do we do?

And his answer is live by the spirit. Live by the spirit. That's the answer. And honestly, it was kind of a profound thing

for me to realize maybe, what, 10 years ago, that the real Christian life wasn't the Christian

doing more religious things to try and keep God happy. It was connect with the spirit and let the

spirit do the work.

It's in the Bible everywhere, but I didn't see it.

Why do you think you missed it?

I kind of passed over Holy Spirit stuff for a long time

because I was, I don't know, scared of some of the extremism maybe that I saw.

Some of it's worth being scared of.

But I wasn't looking into this because I had this weird experience that I couldn't place.

It was more like if the Bible says it, why can't we build a understanding of the Holy Spirit and then just like live there?

Because the more I studied, the more I realized the Holy Spirit's role in the sanctification of a follower of Jesus is like on every page, dude.

It's like everywhere.
