Today I'm talking to Dan Harris. He's the author of 10% happier.

He wrote it 10 years ago, but it's been reissued.

So that's what we're going to talk about.

Dan is also the host of 10% happier podcast with Dan Harris.

All right, Dan, before we hopscotch all over the place with your book and I want to talk

about the TV business and, and oh my gosh so many things to talk about.

The first thing though is I have to explain that this is an incredible very weird experience for me because

I read huge chunks of your book over the years, obviously been a long time fan.

And then to bring myself into the present, I've been listening to you on audio book, which means

I'm having that experience you have with a good book or an

audiobook where the narrator is in your head. So I have been narrating the

getting ready to talk to you right now in your voice and it's freaking me out.

I want to apologize because I know what it's like to have my own voice in my head and it's difficult.

Well, yeah, well, it's very pleasing to have your voice in my head because I guess you've edited

out all the or left in just enough of the ego that it is what makes it so winning of course you know your journey through this

but one of the things I love in the book and the work you do is

the mix of skepticism with the woo-woo and it's so great in the book because

you're you know you're skeptical which makes the conclusions you come to so hard one and therefore useful but one of the things you talk about in the book is you're constantly searching particularly for the early part and I thank goodness for your

characterization of Eckhart totally because I had the same experience when I read the

power of now anyway is that you're like okay, fine, but I need something useful, helpful.

So we are three weeks away from an election.
