The average number of points scored in an NBA game is right now the highest it's been in 55 years.

The average number of points per game is 115.6.

And that's the highest since the 1979-1970 season.

Average points per game have been steadily increasing

is almost certain to continue.

Now there are a few basic reasons for this, which we could discuss.
