Summary

Welcome back to the Full Time Review! The Athletic's Monday morning podcast that brings you a recap of the weekend's NWSL action and more from the women's soccer world in under 15 minutes.

This week, Tamerra Griffin set the scene as big wins for Racing Louisville and Bay FC meant that the final two NWSL playoff spots are still up for grabs.

Would it even be a Full Time podcast if we didn't talk about Temwa Chawinga? We have the latest on the record-breaking KC Current forward, who scored her 20th goal of the season against the San Diego Wave and by doing so completed a sweep of notching at least one goal against all 13 opposing clubs in the league.

Plus: The rest of the chaos from around the NWSL, a continental champion was crowned in South America, and some WNBA-NWSL crossover.

Hello, and welcome to full-time review. I am Tamara Griffin, and I'm here to give you a full-recap of everything you've missed in the NWSL and beyond in less

0:23.3

time than it probably takes you to brew a cup of coffee.

0:26.0

First off, the playoff push continues for Bay FC Racing Louisville and the Portland Thorns

0:31.3

who are fighting for two remaining spots in the NWSL playoffs.

0:35.3

This past weekend, Racing Louisville and Bayfc did what needed to be

0:38.9

done and secured 1-0 victories racing over the Portland Thorns and Bayfc over the North Carolina

0:45.2

courage. Now, let's start with Racing versus the Thorns. This was Racing's last home game

0:50.8

of the season. And what better way to thank their fans for sticking with them than

0:55.3

with an 89th minute thriller of a goal from Taylor Flint who nodded in a beautiful one off

1:02.3

of a corner kick in the waiting minutes of the game to allow racing to walk home with three points.

1:08.2

Now, this game also saw the return of Sophia Smith, who had been

1:11.4

sitting out with injury the past couple of weeks. The thorns need just one point to clinch their

1:17.2

spot in the playoffs, and we'll have one last shot to do that in the last game of the season

1:22.7

following this international break. In San Jose, Bay of C also got a critical dub against the North Carolina

1:29.1

courage who've already clinched their spot in the fifth seed, and another 80th minute goal,

1:34.8

but this time from defender Abby Dalkemper, who has been such an incredible spark for Bay since

1:40.3

she came over from San Diego Wave. Let's listen to what Abby had to say about this win

1:44.7

because she is a Bay Area native

1:46.5

and has spoken at length about how important that has been for her

1:50.5

and how gratifying it's been for her to be able to secure these wins

1:54.7

for BayFC as they make their playoff push.

1:56.4

I mean, I think everyone in like a 10-mile radius probably heard the stadium and the fans.
