Summary

Holders Man United are knocked out on penalties at Old Trafford as their deficiencies are laid bare again. But for Fulham, could Marco Silva be about to earn some tangible reward for the phenomenal job he’s done?
Earlier on Sunday, Brighton are victorious at Newcastle after extra-time. It’s a truly costly afternoon for the Magpies as they lose Anthony Gordon and perhaps more players ahead of the Carabao Cup final.
Palace progress past Millwall but all the talk is dominated by the horror challenge on striker Jean-Philippe Mateta. Similarly, Bournemouth’s win over Wolves sees plenty of discussion about the 8 minute VAR delay and the extent to which Matheus Cunha has just let Wolves down.
