Yes, the season is upon us. woke up. Everything was just right. Tommy, so far so good with the weather.

We're at Hotel Indigo, obviously, our home away from home during football season without question. Stop on by and see us here. Seventh floor, the beer is flowing. The food is good. The people are great. It is time for Florida State, Alabama. Finally, something new to talk about. And boy, do we need something new to talk about not even going to reference why that

is tom i'm just ready for some football and i think i think most of the people i've run into today are

as well uh an eagerly anticipated game two titans in the history of college football meet on a field

in which they've never played uh alabama that is and ford state looking to pull an upset where they are sizable underdogs, obviously. This line over the summer, starting out around 10 and a half, moved all the way up to 13.5. Some 14 and a half this morning, if you could get it, came back down. So the point of me bringing that up isn't so much about the game, but it is about the perception of the two programs where they're at and what this game is supposed to look like. Florida State would have to pull the upset in the eyes of Vegas. But hey, they're going to play the game. So that's what matters most. And Florida State has a new team. You're talking about a new starting 11 on offense and a new starting eight or nine of the 11 on defense. So different coaches, and we all know that, obviously, bringing Gus Miles

on on the offensive side of the football. We'll see what he dials up today. He's been in some

big games against Alabama before, and he's had some success in those big games against Alabama.

And then obviously on the defensive side, Tony White, that's the story of the offseason. Those

two coordinators, obviously there are other coaches that have been added to the staff, and we could go through Coach Hand and all the rest. But honestly, those two coordinators, that's what we're looking at today, because Mike Norvell, on the heels of last season, handed over the keys to the kingdom to those two coordinators and said, do your job, I'll be a CEO, I'll look at the big picture stuff. You guys game plan this thing, and today we get to see what that looks like. Yeah, even though the offense is similar, you know, Gus Malzon's offense is similar to Mike Norveld, this is fundamentally new because the pace is going to be different, the pace is going to be up from Gus, assuming that Florida State succeeds on first down, they're going to be running with a lot of pace. And also the decisions on personnel, rotations, all that kind of stuff is now under the purview of Gus Malzahn. What Mike Norvell is going to be deciding is fourth downs. Do we go for it? Do we not? Got to tell Gus on second down, you got two plays to get it here, that type of thing. But this is all Gus. And then also, yes, fundamentally speaking, 11 new starters on offense. It's brand new. Ritchie Leonard played a few games last year. I get it. So if he starts today, that kind of counts, kind of doesn't. But really, he played under five games last year. So the offensive line, all new, quarterback is new. We'll see what that running back rotation looks like today. I'm very interested in that. Brand new receivers. You're going to have a weapon at tight end and Randy Pittman. It's hard to wrap your mind around watching a team that is this new. But this is the era of college football that we live in with the transfer portal. So it's going to be more frequent. It's just this is totally new. The only thing

that's the same is the head coach leading him out of the tunnel. I think after what we saw a year ago,

a lot of folks are welcoming new. It's a reason to be excited because you don't really know how

they're going to play. One thing you do hope to see right from Jump Street, and I think you will.

I've said this all off

season for as much as it's difficult to predict stylistically, you know, perhaps what they're

going to use in terms of the personnel. You know Gus's schemes, but how they're going to use

guys you wonder about. And then defensively with Tony, with the new personnel here, how much of a

true 335 do we see, all that sort of stuff.

What you can, I think, predict accurately, and I hope certainly we see it from Jump Street,

is that Florida State plays a lot harder and a lot faster and a lot nastier than you saw a year ago.

And I think there's a very good chance that's going to be the case.
