Summary

After a weeklong standoff on Capitol Hill, Democrat and Republican Senate lawmakers reached an agreement to extend the debt-ceiling to early December, avoiding the U.S. government to default. Jared and FOX News Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram explain how the two parties were able to reach a short-term agreement. President Biden is hoping he can put pressure on Congress to pass his Build Back Better agenda. The President laid out his case for the need to pass his $1.2-trillion infrastructure bill and $3.5-trillion "human infrastructure" bill in Michigan this week. The price tag for the $3.5-trillion bill will come down to satisfying the concerns of moderate Democrats who have been critical of the price. The U.S Chamber of Congress has endorsed the smaller bipartisan infrastructure bill, but they are not on board with the larger reconciliation bill or the new taxes that come with paying for it. Vice President of Transportation and Infrastructure at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Ed Mortimer joins Jared to explain. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
