It was an eventful first half of the 119th Congress,

as Republicans looked to confirm President Trump's nominees and pass his agenda,

and as Democrats debated the future of the party.

You know, Democrats think that they have made some political inroads here on that subject

alone because Republicans have been unable to address that.

And part of that is because there's a real schism in the House of Representatives.

And the debate over health care continues into 2026,

hear from a GOP lawmaker who's been at odds with leadership over the

issue. We have to have a short-term extension with reforms. You need to reform the system. You need

income limits so that, for instance, somebody making $600,000 is not benefiting from taxpayer

funds to purchase health care.

Number two, you need insurance reforms to go after the fraud and the abuse within the system.

Number three, you need to eliminate zero premium plans.

as majority leader.

We have a lot of brilliant people in the Republican conference, brimming with ideas

And it will be my job to make sure that they have the chance to use those ideas and that

knowledge to strengthen our country and make life better for the American people.
